MARCH 19, 2006, we created the first ever PERSIAN ARTS FESTIVAL in New York City. Recognized by Mayor Bloomberg and the city of New York, CNN, Daily News, VOA/RadioFarda as well as a slew of many other media outlets and cultural organizations...and most importantly recognized by the Persian community and beyond. Many thanks to MAKOR for housing our festival! It is most important to us that we know this community is strong, faithful, loving, open, curious, and dynamic. Our mission is to bring us all together in unison with all cultures as well as with our own. We created a huge voice on March 19th; we have shown our humanity, our creativity, our character and communicated to the city and beyond, a strong network that will never break bonds. We are deeply appreciative of all your support and motivation. Without this community connection, we have no identity. thank you for bringing light to our "vatan" and giving strength to our heritage. Let's continue our beautiful multi-cultural identities and instill these beautiful elements of Persian culture in ourselves and our children. Our goal is that everyone feels connected, fulfilled and proud. Very Truly yours, Persian Arts Festival

Here's what people said about the 1st Annual Persian Arts Festival!
"The best Iranian New Year event in New York in 30 years, and for that matter, the best Iranian New Year event in the history of New York City...You created a true celebration of Iran’s vital culture TODAY, in Iran and in America: the films you showed linked us to youth in Iran and their ideas and desires, the art you showed introduced us to emerging young artists with something to say, the comedians you featured were all young and vibrant and made fun of what was immediately recognizable and felt by your audience – growing up as Iranian in America – and the hugely talented progressive rock band, 127 performed an inspired and inspiring music of their own, pulling together the conditions of life in Iran today and the latest global trends in rock and jazz." Behnam Nateghi, VOA Persian Service correspondent, New York
"Congratulations on such a massive success."
"Beautiful work! Truly inspiring as an Iranian American myself."
"The music was FANTASTIC. The spirit was very alive in the preparation and content of the festival! Want MORE. Especially more art and more music. Very proud they were of the staff that organized the event. We'll definitely come again to support it!"
"The comedy was really good even for me a non-persian. The music was great, especially 127. The biggest smiling faces were in the kids room. People were just standing there looking at the kids and smiling. Congrats on a successful festival."
"Congrats on running a successful festival! When I was a kid, there was no such thing as taking pride in our Persian heritage -- whether it was through the arts, music, literature...and it's great to see that times are changing!"
"I loved the program. It was a grand effort and greatly successful."
"If I could type "Thank you" a billion times I would. I am blown away by what you achieved. In every respect the event was a class act, and very well put together. For me, it was simply magical. To see so many talented people showcase their work was exceptionally rewarding. And it was clear people were enjoying themselves." Behzad, Namak Magazine
